Men's Ministry

The men's ministry of First ARP exists to help disciple the men of our church so that they are mature followers of Jesus who love Jesus deeply, lead their families in a Christ-like manner, and serve Christ's church faithfully. We seek to do this through study, support and service.

Study - 2nd Saturday @ 7am

Our men's Bible study and prayer time is currently held on the second Saturday of each month from 7am-9am. We are currently studying Sinclair Ferguson's book Devoted to God's Church: Core Values for Christian Fellowship. The Bible study also provides a time for fellowship and prayer.

Support

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7am to pray and encourage one another.

Service

Plans are being made to have another church wide family event similar to the Winthrop Basketball outing which was help pre-COVID and attended by over 70 people. Opportunities are also being sought to serve together in the community.

Summary

In Christian theology, the world (culture), the flesh (residing sin), and the devil (deception) have been singled out as the implacable enemies of the soul. In Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Solomon comments on the peril a man faces who stands alone against these attacks without the benefit of mutual support received from other men. May we support one another for the glory of God and the benefit of our souls! For more information, contact John Barron or Jon Oliphant.
